W-Elston L-Acker HRS: S. Taylor, Banks, Moryn, Robinson-2 GWRBI-Adams
Holy cow, what a game. Dave Hillman has a nice little 4-0 shutout going when Frank Robinson begins to go insane. Mashes a 3-run homer in the 6th to put Cincy back in the game. SIngles and scores on a Crowe triple in the 8th to give the Reds a 6-5 lead. Walt Moryn hits a grand slam off Acker in the 9th but Robinson whacks a 3-run shot (#30) with one out in the 9th off Elston to tie it at 9-9. In the 12th a pinch-hit sac fly by Bobby Adams finally eeks it out for the Cubs.

W-Rush L-Jones HRS: Roach, Crandall GWRBI-Roach
After a rare win, Sad Sam Jones returns to form with a patented excruciating loss. The Cards get twice as many hits and Jones whiffs ten Braves in eight innings, but timely yard work by Roach and Crandall and about seven missed Cardinal opportunities decide this one. Don Blasingame chips in for St. Louis with two caught stealings and an error on the day.

Maybe, since she’ll be tagging along, Ms. Dumas might do a little pitching for the Dodgers as well. Lord knows she might be an improvement over some of the bozos out there.
